Robert F. Kidd, born Los Angeles, California, March 29, 1948; admitted to bar, 1977, California. Robert F. Kidd is the head of the firm’s bankruptcy and insolvency group. He is engaged in all aspects of bankruptcy and insolvency practice, representing both businesses and individuals, as creditors and debtors, in litigation, in bankruptcy cases and in out-of-court workouts. He is admitted to appear before the United States Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Courts and Bankruptcy Courts of the Northern, Eastern, Central and Southern Districts of California, and the courts of the State of California. He frequently speaks to professional groups on bankruptcy and insolvency topics. He is a panel mediator for the Bankruptcy Dispute Resolution Panel of the Northern District of California. Mr. Kidd was graduated from Columbia University in 1970, where he was a member of (1966-1970) and served as captain of (1969) the Varsity Crew. He was graduated from the School of Law of the University of California at Davis in 1977, where he was a member of the U.C. Davis Law Review, for which he wrote “California’s Evidence Code Section 1040: Discovery of Governmental Information,” 10 U.C.D. Law Rev. 367-392 (1977). Mr. Kidd was formerly a partner of the law firm of Miller, Starr & Regalia, where he specialized in real estate litigation, and of the law firm of Graham & James, where he chaired the firm’s bankruptcy group. He is a member of a number of professional organizations, including: the Alameda County Bar Association (chair of the Insolvency Section 2001); the Bay Area Bankruptcy Forum (member of the board of directors 2003); the Bar Association of San Francisco; and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He is president of the Jack London Aquatic Center, Inc., a non-profit corporation, and a member of the board of directors of the Oakland Rotary Club No. 3. He has previously served as a member of the board of directors and/or an officer of: the Oakland Ballet; Alameda County Legal Assistance for Seniors; Bishop O’Dowd High School; St. Paul’s Episcopal School; Columbia University Alumni Club of Northern California; Lake Merritt Breakfast Club; Introduction to USA Law of the U.C.
